advice[2] = "SERIOUS COLLECTORS:\n\nSerious sculpture buyers are usually very devoted to WHO they collect and are knowledgeable about the sulptor. Here is how one serious collector describes his experience of collecting:\n\n\"A dedicated collector never stops collecting sculpture. When a collector comes together with a new sculpture, this contact embellishs the meaning of the sculpture and contextualizes it.\"\n\nWhether you are a compulsive collector, that is, someone who makes a major investment in an original sculpture often or a casual collector who chooses sculpture for your own personal amusement, or to embellish new surroundings like a newly purchased home, a refurnished office or a favorite summer house, there are several factors you consider in deciding upon a purchase. Check out these qualities of a chosen sculpture:\n\nAuthenticity - Is the sculpture really original? Leafing through my portfolio, you will see that most of my sculptures have tender and vulnerable faces, an original characteristic of my sculpting. Plus you are buying directly from me, the artist.\n\nQuality of the materials - I use only the top quality American bronze, clay or cloth in my sculptures. Using top quality materials is a good business decision because I want your choice of sculpture to please you for the next fifty or more years and be able to please your family for generations and maintain its value.\n\nRarity of the sculpture - My bronze sculptures are made in Museum sized limited editions of 9; all my cloth sculptures are one of a kind as are my fired clay sculptures. I think this is the reason that my sculptures increase in value over time.\n\nCondition of the sculpture - I am careful to keep my sculpture in excellent condition before it is purchased and to give instructions on how to maintain the condition to the purchaser. I am ready to make any repairs that might be needed.\n\nProvenance - Provenance means the history of the sculpture such as: Who owned the sculpture from the beginning of its existence to the present?, What awards has the sculpture won? Where has the sculpture been exhibited? You will find some of this information in my portfolio now. I am currently updating this information on each sculpture.\n\nPrice of a sculpture - Many art dealers recommend purchasing a sculpture because you feel a connection to it and not solely on price. They also mention that it is better to find a way to acquire a sculpture that seems over your comfortable price range than to settle for a sculpture that doesn't affect you as much and is comfortably within your price range.
